Somatic Tuning ®
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help work through painful past experiences, current life challenges and future fears. We use alternating sounds and tapping to process old memories and work through fears. Many clients say they feel better in just a few sessions while receiving deep insights through the process.
Internal family systems and Psychosynthesis looks at the different parts (sub-personalities) of a persons psyche. IFS and Psychosynthesis focuses on balancing and harmonizing the parts so they can work together to ultimately strengthen the connection with the (higher) Self.
Indigenous traditions are combined to provide a psycho-spiritual approach to therapy. Within this model we create a place of power/sanctuary, utilize shamanic journeying within the therapy framework , help you connect with spirit guides, incorporate ancestral work, and use the medicine wheel as a therapeutic tool.
The Somatic Tuning Method can't be found anywhere else- I developed it while learning about the way the body releases emotion and trauma. These session are centered around releasing stuck emotion from the body as I use tuning forks to re-calibrate your energy. I bring in elements of body based therapies such as Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and more.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a branch off from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). ACT takes a mindfulness approach and has elements of Buddhism weaved throughout. ACT helps you accept thoughts, emotions and sensations while deepening your connection to the resources within. Oftentimes, I have seen the ACT process create more powerful, lasting results than traditional CBT.
I use a variety of mindfulness based tools to help you deepen your awareness. Some of which include Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and more. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce anxiety significantly when practiced on a regular basis
